A question I often receive from my watch-loving friends and family is “should I be keeping my watches on a winder?”

It seems that nowadays, just like with the number of different watch brands and models on the market, there’s been a proliferation in the number of companies making watch-related accessories, including winders. Available in all shapes, sizes and for just about every budget, watch winders are pretty neat objects in their own right.

But do we really need them, or is it a matter of convenience? and what’s the downside of keeping one’s watches constantly in motion?
