A few months ago I posted about the Linde Werdelin Oktopus Moon Tattoo here, an artistic take on the Danish duo’s dive watch with a proprietary moon phase complication. It was the only watch writeup I’ve ever done using the stock press release images provided by the brand, as Linde Werdelin are one of the few to use real photographs in their press material instead of unrealistic 3D mockups. That really says a lot about their confidence in their products.

Still, I wanted to see the tattooed watch for myself, and luckily Linde Werdelin were showcasing in Geneva during the SIHH week. Here are some of the photos I managed to snap of this piece, where I tried (and probably failed) to bring out the depth of the engraving that extends from the case to the dial. Enjoy!
One detail I didn’t notice in the press release was the drawn faces on the luminous moon phases. If you look closely, you’ll see that the moon’s face ages from a young lady to an elderly woman as the lunar cycle progresses. A neat little touch.
