Technically, my first day can’t really be classified as SIHH, as 4 out of the 5 brands I visited were those who aren’t officially part of SIHH but exhibit new releases nonetheless across hotel suites  in the city of Geneva.

My day started off with one of my favourite independent brands, URWERK. The main novelty, which is more of a teaser than an actual product, is a new movement for a watch that will be announced in the coming months.

I then headed to RJ Romain Jerome to have a look at their latest collection, the 1969. For an entry-level Romain Jerome, this is actually one of the most appealing models I’ve seen, a slimmed down and smaller 43mm case with a unique silicium dial, done here in blue PVD.

Next stop was another avant-garde independent brand, De Bethune, who unveiled their latest “concept watch”, the Dream Machine 5.

After that I made way to Hublot to check out their latest new collection, the “Spirit of Big Bang” which sees the Big Bang take on a tonneau case with a custom Zenith El Primero chronograph movement.

And finally, I paid a visit to a brand where they’ve reintroduced the Hommage collection. Seen here is the Double Tourbillon.

I’ll cover these pieces in more detail in the coming weeks and months, but for now, stay tuned for some actual SIHH content tomorrow.
